Saveetha Health Summit 2025

The Saveetha Health Summit 2025, an international conference on advanced biomedical research and healthcare innovation, took place on 17 December 2025 at Saveetha Dental College and Hospitals, Chennai. Organised by COMManD and AGAR, the summit brought together academicians, clinicians, researchers, and students to discuss emerging technologies shaping the sector. Distinguished guests, including Dr. N. M. Veeraiyan and Dr. Shishta Nadda Basu, highlighted interdisciplinary collaboration and translational research in the inaugural session. The event featured three keynote lectures, attracted around 600 delegates, and included 475 oral and e-paper scientific presentations. Awards were given to outstanding work, while the summit successfully promoted research excellence, collaboration, and innovation among participants.

Edify Session titled "Saveetha’s Metacognitive Approach for Reasoning and Thinking"

The Centre of Molecular Medicine and Diagnostics (COMManD), Department of Biochemistry, hosted the Edify session titled “SMART (Saveetha’s Metacognitive Approach for Reasoning and Thinking)” on 4th December 2025, at Decennial Hall, Saveetha Dental College and Hospitals. The session was chaired by Pro-Chancellor Dr. Deepak Nallaswamy, Registrar (Academics) Dr. Sheeja Varghese, and Dean (Faculty), Dr. N.D. Jayakumar. Prof. V. Vishnu Priya moderated the Edify session and presented the video to all faculty members. The video focused on cognitive training for first-year BDS students to strengthen their clinical biochemistry skills.  Following the insightful video presentation, an engaging discussion ensued in which faculty members shared perspectives on innovative pedagogical strategies and the practical applications of metacognitive techniques in the dental curriculum. The session emphasised the importance of fostering analytical thinking and problem-solving abilities among students, aiming to bridge conceptual understanding with clinical practice.  The Edify session was concluded with the presentation of awards. Dr. Selvaraj, Professor, received the Workaholic Award and Dr. F. Arul Prakash, Associate Professor of our department, received the Punctuality Award
