OUR FACILITIES
Department of Biochemistry is equipped with state of the art 12 colour flow cytometer, mammalian cell culture facility, clinical biochemistry facility, molecular biology and proteomic facility. Apart from these facilities, central facilities of our college include advanced imaging facility (STEM: Scanning Transmission Electron Microscopy with 0.5nm resolution), material characterisation including FTIR, Instron Electropulse 3000 for tensile strength analysis, regenerative medicine facility with 3-D printer and Biomedical Research Unit and Animal centre for animal experiments.

ADVANCED IMMUNOHAEMATOLOGY AND FLOW CYTOMETRY FACILITY
Flow cytometry is a technique that allows characterizing and differentiating between multiple discrete populations of cells based on their light scatter and fluorescence properties as they flow in a single cell file across a tightly focused light beam. Over the last two decades, in adition to being widely used in research settings, it has increasingly become an indispensable tool for screening, diagnosing, prognosticating or monitoring treatment in a wide spectrum of clinical settings.
Our Clinical Flow Cytometry Facility is a state-of-the-art facility utilizing up to 12-color flow cytometric analysis. Our facility is equipped with BD FACSLyric™ Flow Cytometer.
Cell Culture Facility
This facility is equipped with Class II A2 Biosafety Cabinets, CO2 incubators, inverted microscopes, -20 cold rooms, -80 freezers, Liquid Nitrogen storage facility
CLINICAL BIOCHEMISTRY FACILITY
Biochemical tests are widely used to diagnose disease and monitor treatment. Biochemistry department is equipped with clinical diagnostic lab facility including fully auto analyzer, auto hematology analyzer etc. . Our lab is well-equipped, computerised and provides patient care services.. It is connected to Hospital Information System for electronic reporting of results. Laboratory Internal Quality (IQ) is assessed and well maintained periodically. Our laboratory participate in External Quality Assessment Scheme (EQAS) conducted by CMC, Vellore.
MOLECULAR BIOLOGY AND PROTEOMICS FACILITY
Department of Biochemistry provides research and training environment in molecular biology techniques such as separation and quantification of DNA, isolation of RNA, quantitative real time PCR, ELISA, Blotting etc. Proteomics facility is utilized for the identification and analysis of proteins in the sample using SDS PAGE , protein quantification, protein digestion in gel or in solution. This also enables to profile biomolecules such as carbohydrates and proteins.
