OVERVIEW :
Saveetha Institute of Medical and Technical Sciences offers two year program in M.Sc Molecular Medicine. This program is designed to appeal to both clinical and basic scientists, and provides a comprehensive, theoretical and hands-on practical training using state-of-the-art techniques in cellular, molecular biology and proteomics as applied to medicine.
This course in Molecular Medicine is an inter-disciplinary program with emphasis of twelve months dissertation/research work. This program enhances the scientific and medical knowledge basis acquired in undergraduate programs and explores in-depth the cellular, molecular and biochemical aspects of medicine. Its goal is to train students thoroughly in the area of molecular medicine and enable them to engage in independent and original research/jobs at the intersection of medicine and basic sciences.
This masters (M.Tech/M.Sc Molecular Medicine) aims to provide excellent training for life sciences and clinical graduates looking to pursue further research (including PhD study) and also for those interested in a career in industry, clinical service or a related discipline. The skills acquired by graduates of this course are well-suited to careers in industry, clinical service or related disciplines.
STUDY PROGRAM
The M.Tech/M.Sc Molecular Medicine is a two year (24 months) full time course starting in September. The course is organised as follows
